SUBSCRIPTIONS - Please let Keith have £22 . If not paid before end of March your are NOT INSURED for BDI (Bee Disease Insurance) for 40 days.
LIBRARY– Books, DVDs and pamphlets will be available on the first Sunday of each month from February 3rd between 13 30 hrs and 15 30 hrs. Baz will require a returnable cheque deposit because of the high value of the books etc.
ADULT BEE CLINIC– On Saturday 8th March a clinic will be available at Dower House from 09 00 hrs to 16 00 hrs where you can bring samples of bees for examination. They will be checked for Nosema, Amoeba and Acarine. Also hive debris can be examined.
BBKA BASIC EXAMINATION– Lena Crowe has become our examination secretary and is waiting to hear from members wanting to take the basic course. Contact Lena on :-Tel 0161 661 5439
AGM- It is our 112th AGM on the 16th February 2008. It will start at 14 00 hrs at The Dower House. Please note that only capitation paying members are allowed to vote. DOWER HOUSE We have built up a good and steady clientele from the public who visit on Sundays and Bank Holidays. However, there is a need to have two members (experienced or novice) on duty each time the Dower House is open. Sunday afternoon is also becoming somewhat of a social gathering/opportunity to pass on equipment, information, do tasks in the House etc. The committee is asking therefore, that each member, regardless of experience, commits to two Sunday afternoons during this year (not much, really). Kevin Mealor (01204-305652 or email, kev. mealor@hotmail.co.uk.) has volunteered to organise the rota and will ensure newcomers are paired with more experienced hands until they know the system. All that is needed is some communication skills and a small amount of knowledge of beekeeping (you know more than the general public!) Failure to select your Sundays yourself will result in a call from Kevin! (alternatively, sign up outside the kitchen) |
